Ikat Inspired Fabrics

One of my favorite things about designing a room is selecting fabrics for upholstery, drapes, pillows and bedding! There are so many possibilities, colors and textures to choose from. One type of fabric that I have yet to use is Ikat.Ikat is a process of creating patterns by using a resist dyeing process before the yarns are woven. The Ikat dyeing process is seen in fabrics from South East Asia, South America and the Middle East. Today the Ikat style is interpreted in fabrics that are used for drapes, rugs, pillows, bedding and more!Ikat inspired fabrics can be used in a bohemian, eclectic, contemporary, or traditional room.
